They become their role for a few hours,

Then burn in stage light as the crowd 

Showers them in flowers.

Convincing them that 

They are as they seem,

That they feel the things they scream and

Are living and grieving on center stage,

Bearing everything for their onlookers to see.

No one will see their true identity.
