Was it worth it?
Did it make them any better?
Listen to yourself, they were always your enemy, even if you wanted to
believe otherwise. You can not solve their problems, when they can not
bring themselves to solve it themselves. Pushing and pushing, waiting
for you to fix the unfixable.
But what about you?
Is there any reward? Or just the knot in your chest that yanks and
pulls continuously until you can not breathe any longer–until you
just lay there.
Your mind becomes a haze and for once you feel the true helplessness
that has laid dormant in your mind for so long. A never ending cycle,
turning and turning and turning again…
The world becomes more acrid as it always was, but you are now a part
of the misery. Optimism and hope had torn you down one too many
times, and you wonder the point. Was there any point at all?
When you look in the mirror, and you look into your own eyes,
you can see the pain.
But when they look back at you, they look for your help.
People please yourself for a change.
